Mission Statement: Ashland Emergency Services are dedicated to providing emergency medical care in times of need and in a timely manner. Ashland Emergency Services goals are to treat and transport the sick or injured, advocate, and educate while providing the best care possible.
Membership Requirements:
- Applicants must possess sufficient physical and mental health to perform any and all duties required by the department.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Must have a valid Nebraska Driver's License.
- Cannot have a felony conviction.
- Applicants must live in the Ashland Rescue district.
How to Apply:
- Fill out both the AES application and background check release form completely. Be sure to sign and date both forms.
- Deliver both forms to City Hall at 2304 Silver Street or email to ashlandrescuedept@gmail.com upon completion.
- You will be contacted by the captain of the rescue squad and asked to attend the next monthly meeting.
New Members
- New members will have one year to complete a CPR course and either complete or be enrolled in an EMT course.
- The EMT course is a 180 hour long course and includes classroom and clinical settings.
- The training will be at no cost to new members.
- EMT courses are typically one or two nights per week depending on how the course is set up. The overall length of the course is determined by how many hours the class is scheduled per week but typically lasts at least four months.
- Once accepted, members are required to stay active by participating in emergency responses, training, maintenance sessions, standby events and other department functions.
